Discussion: Patterns

Here are a few sites to get the discussion rolling on pattern websites. Feel free to add your favorites in the comments.
  1. Knitty One of the best known site for patterns (and much more), knitty.com is great because a lot of its contributions are made by knitters just like you! Check out their archive of patterns and stop in their coffee shop to say hello.
  2. Garnstudio This site is actually from the Norwegian company Drops. Instead of having to translate all their patterns, they have put them online for free in 11 languages. Currently, there are 29,488 FREE patterns that cover the entire spectrum of knitting. If you can't find what you're looking for there, you may have to design it yourself!
  3. Knit Net Knit Net is an online knitting magazine that has been around for a few years now. They offer several patterns in each issue and a lot of useful information. Send in your tip and if it is used in their knitting tips e-mail, you'll receive a free subscription.
  4. Berroco Manufacturers of great yarns, Berroco also has a website with hundreds of free patterns. The benefit for them in giving you the patterns for free is that you are likely to use their yarns for the patterns.
  5. Knitting Pattern Central  Just like the name says, this is a central stop when looking for knitting patterns. Click on their link to bring you to the directory of hundreds of free patterns.
Yarn over and out!
