As promised, here is a post to get a discussion going on knitting websites. This is a great place for you to share information with each other and to access when you have spare time. Knitters are the largest group of crafters on the internet and as such have a vast array of websites to browse. From personal blogs, to video instructions on knitting, to distributors and retailers. Then there's the thousands of free patterns out there for beginner to expert.
This first post is a collection of websites that you may find interesting about instructional information. I know it is entirely possible to browse the net 24/7 and not even make a dent in all the sites out there for knitters, so please don't hold it against me for the sites that weren't mentioned today. There will be more posts - I promise. And if you know of a site that you'd like to let everybody else know about, please leave the address in a comment and we'll check it out.

Instructional Sites
- About Knitting This site is one of the best I have seen that encompasses much about knitting, including instruction. The About network covers a wide range of topics as well that you can access once you are there. This site links to instructions, patterns, manufacturers, yarns, retailers, and much more. If you're only going to one site this would have to be the one.
- Knit Witch Brittany is the resident Knit Witch in the North Georgia Mountains. From this site you have access to video instruction for beginners and experienced knitters, and also her blog and products she sells.
- How To Knit Knitting Help is a great site for any knitter. Not only will it teach you the basics via video, it has advanced techniques as well. If you'd like a break, they also have an online forum where you can chat with other knitters!
Hi!
ReplyDeleteAnother knitting link which includes videos for both continental (working yarn held in the left hand) and English (working yarn held in the right hand) style knitting is located at
www.knittinghelp.com
It is a great site when you get stuck with a pattern or can't seem to remember how to cast-on, purl or knit. The video library is extensive and information on this site is quite resourceful.
Happy Clicking!
